Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Biz Checkout collects, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Biz Checkout marketplace, deal platform, and related services.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide, information generated as you use the platform, and information from third parties that help us operate the service.

  • Account information: name, email, phone, password, and profile details.
  • Identity-verification data: government-issued ID images, a selfie, and the verification results returned by our identity provider.
  • Business and transaction data: listings, financial documents, tax transcripts, messages, signed agreements, and deal-room activity.
  • Payment information: billing details and transaction records processed by our payment and escrow partners (we do not store full card numbers).
  • Technical data: device, browser, IP address, log data, and usage analytics.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the marketplace and deal platform;
  • Verify identity and business details and prevent fraud, money laundering, and abuse;
  • Facilitate messaging, documents, electronic signatures, payments, and escrow;
  • Communicate with you about your account, transactions, and support requests; and
  • Comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.

3. How we share information

We share information only as needed to run the service or as required by law. We do not sell your personal information.

  • With other users as part of a transaction (for example, your profile, listing details, messages, and documents you choose to share in a deal room).
  • With service providers that process data on our behalf, including identity verification, payments, escrow, business and tax data verification, email delivery, cloud hosting, and analytics.
  • For legal reasons, such as to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights and safety of users and the public.
  • In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

4. Identity verification and sensitive data

When you complete identity verification, our third-party provider collects and processes your ID and selfie to confirm your identity. We receive the verification outcome and limited related data. This information is used only for verification, fraud prevention, and compliance, and is handled in accordance with the provider's security standards and applicable law.

5. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. We may retain certain records (such as transaction, verification, and tax-related records) for longer where required to meet legal, accounting, or regulatory obligations, and we delete or anonymize information when it is no longer needed.

6. Security

We use technical and organizational measures - including encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers - to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. SMS / text message notifications

If you provide your mobile number and opt in, Biz Checkout sends transactional account notifications by SMS - for example, alerting a seller when a buyer sends a priority message or expresses interest in their listing, and notifying deal participants of transaction status updates. These are one-to-one, action-triggered messages; we never send marketing texts.

You opt in by entering your mobile number and checking the SMS-consent box in your account settings or during onboarding. Consent is not a condition of using the platform.

Message frequency varies with your activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe, or HELP for help. You can also turn SMS off anytime in your account settings.

We share your mobile number only with our SMS provider (Twilio) to deliver these messages. We do not sell or share mobile opt-in data, and we do not share it with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can manage much of your information from your account settings, or contact us to exercise these rights. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

You can opt out of non-essential marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link; we will still send transactional and account messages.

9. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling some may affect functionality.

10. Children's privacy

The platform is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. International users

We operate in the United States, and your information may be processed there and in other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the platform or by email. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
